Our welding team is top-notch and we are looking for a candidate who can Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural weld forms, such as frames for
assembly using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.

Second Shift: Monday – Friday, 6am - 2pm.

Key Characteristics (Highlight characteristics required to succeed in the role)

  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics and able to work from sketches or
  • verbal instructions.
  • Perform free-hand MIG welding.
  • Assist in developing and building jigs and fixtures.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Duties & Responsibilities (List 5-7 essential functions for the role, focusing on broader responsibilities)
  • Assists with other departments as needed.
  • Works with and coordinates activities with other job classifications.
  • Follows safe work practices and all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Reads and understands shop orders and bill of materials.
  • Understands how the tools and materials replenishment system operates.
  • Understands the KanBan system.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to perform work with appropriate PPE for welding (welding helmet, gloves, etc.)
  • Must be able to don PPE appropriate for working in Engineered Equipment including safety
  • glasses and shoes.
  • Majority of day will be spent standing with some bending and fine motor work appropriate for
  • MIG welding in a metal fabrication shop.
  • Ability to operate metal fabrication power and hand tools such for grinding, cutting, finishing, etc. is required.
  • Some sitting and computer work is required.
  • Some unassisted lifting up to 50 lbs. is required – majority of metal movement assisted with cranes/hoists.

Qualifications / Requirements

Required

  1. Experience with MIG welding and ability to complete successful free-hand welds on interview day.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Able to demonstrate a successful MIG weld.
  • Ability to MIG weld stainless and carbon steel alloys.
  • Basic mathematics skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • General mechanical aptitude
