Great China Senior Sales Manager-Analytical Instruments

This position is to lead a motivated China sales team, and the third parties in mainland China and Taiwan to provide world-class analytical solutions for water quality measurement and bio-products management in laboratory/scientific market, pharmaceutical/biopharma, environmental, semiconductor/display, municipality, and other related industries. This position requires strong leadership skills, business acumen, and a deep understanding of the industry and its customers. This role will work with several internal functional teams and will collaborate closely with our global sales teams to develop and execute local, regional and market growth plans. The role will perpetuate and enhance a growth-oriented and customer-focus culture with a solid commitment for profitable business growth.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Develop and implement a regional sales strategy: Define sales objectives, targets, and strategies in alignment with the company's overall business goals. Analyze market trends, predict and provide market assessment for the annual sales planning process. Continuously monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and adjust the sales strategy accordingly.

  • Achieve sales targets: Lead and motivate the sales team and channel partners to meet or exceed sales targets. Provides guidance and support to sales managers, ensuring alignment with sales objectives and effective execution of sales plans.  Track and keep up to date all field activity and opportunities in salesforce CRM. Prepare and update accurate monthly sales forecasts promptly.

  • Build and maintain customer relationships: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty. Work with internal functional teams to resolve customers’ issues in a timely fashion.

  • Expand market presence: Identify and pursue new business opportunities and market segments to expand the company's market presence and market share.  Develop and execute market entry strategies and partnerships to drive growth and increase market share for current and new products.

  • Sales performance analysis: Monitor sales performance metrics, including revenue, conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and customer retention rates.  Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to optimize sales performance.

  • Sales team development: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team and distribution channel. Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to enhance individual and team performance. Hire and/or terminate representative/distributor organization as necessary to meet or exceed regional sales plans and customers’ needs. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the sales organization.

  • Collaboration and communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, applications and operations, to ensure alignment and coordination in delivering customer value.  Communicate sales strategies, goals, and results to manager and stakeholders.

REQUIRED:

  • At least 10 years of experience in Sales in the related industries

  • Bachelor’s degree in either engineering or science, preferably in biology/biochemistry, chemistry, or chemical engineering related background.  

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire teams.

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to drive revenue growth and market expansion.

  • Excellent communication skills in Chinese and fluent English.

  • Excellent writing skills in Chinese and English.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the sales team and channel partners.

  • Ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions to complex problems.

  • Analytical mindset and proficiency in using sales performance metrics and data analysis to drive decision-making.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.

  • Deep understanding of the industry vertical and its customers.

  • Experience with market research and analysis.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading sales teams and achieving sales targets in a competitive market.

 

DESIRED:
Advanced degree in either appropriate technical areas or business administration is highly desirable.  

  • An independent, self-starter with the ability to travel extensively.

  • 5+ years of experience of managing and leading regional sales teams with proven track record

  • Excellent knowledge and ability to effectively work with various Chinese Government organizations such as the Chinese Pharmacopeia, the Chinese Environmental Protection Agency and the Chinese Drinking Water Bureau.

  • Good public speech/presentation skills

  • Familiar with Solution Selling concept

  • Experience selling capital equipment

  • Ability to understand and explain operation and application of Veolia AI instruments

  • An individual who is self-driven to succeed with the highest integrity, strong moral persuasion and always ethical with regards to both professional and personal conduct 

  • A resident of either the Shanghai area or Beijing area is preferred.
