Job Description

Position Purpose: 

Responsible for effective maintenance of drum inventory and proper preparation of burn plans for containerized waste in order to incinerate in accordance with all regulatory requirements. Creates K-mixes, tank blends and direct feed records for incineration of bulk wastes. Maintains files associated with burn plans. Accumulates waste tracking information from throughout the facility. Performs QA/QC on paperwork and reconciles discrepancies prior to entering data into Access Inventory/Waste Tracking System.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Receives, assimilates, and reviews for accuracy and completeness all waste tracking paperwork and records (bulk receipts, drum receipts, material transfers, materials fed to facilities, and site generated waste) associated with waste processed through the facility and/or released for disposal at other sites. Inputs data into Access inventory system. 
  • Updates information in Access computer system after discrepancy resolution.
  • Identifies and locates missing data for compliance with state and federal regulations. Submits information to Environmental Department for the EPA required one year PCB exception report.
  • Assimilates all PCB manifests along with appropriate continuation sheets, and container building transfer logs and resolves any discrepancies. Inputs PCB data into Access Inventory System, including container unique ID numbers and out-of-service dates. 
  • Prepares and distributes Certificates of Destruction and communicates with customers and CWM Billing Department as required. 
  • Burn Plan Preparation: Receives reviewed/signed paperwork to be placed in Burn Plan Packages. Enters review date, analytical and profile information on each profile. Minimizes the number of Burn Plans by combining multiple line items and receiving ticket numbers. Prepares burn plan folders (staging, stage to conveyor, conveyor to kiln). Notifies other departments of available burn plans and distributes plans daily. 
  • Once Container Burn Plans are completed, they are distributed with Kmix and Tank Blends to Shift Supervisor. 
  • This position is responsible to create k-mixes, burn plans, and tank blends for incineration, including data entry to create the finished k-mix, burn plan or tank blend. This position also assists in entry of profile and Access data as appropriate. Frequent use of AS400 profile system is required. 
  • This position collects the completed disposal tickets and distributes the necessary K-mix and paperwork to operations, waste tracking, billing, and process planning as required.
  • This position has a high requirement for both speed and accuracy of data entry. The preparation of mixes, burn plans and blends must provide for a continuous supply of waste to operations.
  • Participates in monthly physical inventory reconciliation, preparing inventory worksheets, entering inventory locations, and reconciling inaccurate inventory information. 
  • Prepares monthly report of total inventory volume (in pounds) for accounting.
  • Make cover sheets listing all Burn Plans, K-mixes and tank farm feedlots. List any extreme conditions or burn priorities on the Burn Plan cover sheets. 
  • This position is “on-call” during evenings, weekends and holidays to provide 24 hour plant service as needed, on a weekly rotating basis. 
  • Establish and maintain files and records pertaining to Certificates of Destruction and original transfer logs. 
  • Performs special projects as assigned by the Waste Blending Supervisor or other designated staff.
  • Minimum of one weekend workday per month is required for physical inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background: 

  • High School or GED equivalent required. 
  • One year verifiable computer data entry and clerical experience as a primary job function including Microsoft Access or similar, IBM AS400 data entry, Microsoft Windows.
  • 1 year hazardous waste experience. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and Lotus Notes 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong customer orientation
