Position Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled individual to fill the position of Head of CIO Office within one of our DB&T Domains, at Veolia North America. The successful candidate will be a results-oriented professional with extensive experience in managing key tasks of the CIO office like Budgeting, Resourcing Planning and Allocation, Vendor Management, Large Transformation Program Management and leading cross-functional teams.
The Head of the CIO Office will provide leadership for overseeing information technology management across the enterprise, including IT strategy, governance, performance management, operating model, and the establishment of standardized methodologies. Additionally, this role will take on responsibilities in enterprise change management and supports business development.
The Head of CIO Office will oversee the successful execution of projects and programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and driving the achievement of business goals. He will be a trusted business partner to Business Teams, Transversal IT Teams and lead the implementation of strategic initiatives. This is a leadership role that requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Oversight
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align program initiatives with overall business strategies and objectives.
- Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the PMO, ensuring programs are aligned with strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement program strategies to optimize performance, drive successful program delivery, and achieve desired business outcomes.
- Track program and project performance against established metrics and objectives to ensure alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
Defining Governance Frameworks:
- Establish and enforce governance practices within the PMO to ensure consistent program execution.
- Develop and implement governance frameworks, including reporting, risk management, and issue resolution processes.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful program delivery.
Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key Business and IT stakeholders and across the partner ecosystem.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, proactively addressing concerns and conflicts.
- Communicate program updates, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Financial Management of Programs:
- Develop and manage program budgets to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Track financial performance of programs, ensuring effective resource allocation and cost control.
Team Management and Talent Development:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the PMO team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient program execution.
- Identify talent needs within the PMO and manage talent acquisition and development accordingly.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements in program and project management methodologies.
- Drive innovation in project execution to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Track and analyze metrics to drive continuous improvement in program performance.
Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in program management, leading complex initiatives.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale programs on time and within budget, while accomplishing desired business outcomes.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong leadership abilities and experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- PMP or SAFe Agile certification will be an advantage.
Physical Requirements:
- Boston / Milwaukee / Paramus, with 40% travel needs
