Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a proven, high-energy and self-motivated Regional Chemfeed Specialist within our Chemical
Solutions and Monitoring (CSM) business unit to support sales teams and end customers working with our
process chemical monitoring & control product line. This product group includes standard metering feed pumps, proprietary and third-party controllers, and monitoring systems related to other associated process control equipment for both heavy and light industry applications. The Regional Chemfeed Specialist will be responsible for routine and preventative maintenance, standard installations, and on-site troubleshooting within their assigned geographic region.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct end customer site scope-outs and audits to assist sales teams in technical review and recommendations for standard installations within the assigned region
  • Commission and configure standard off-the-shelf equipment, program controllers, and validate chemical feed equipment operation on startup by calibration and verification in the safest manner possible
  • Perform routine electrical and mechanical installation of components required for final tie-ins to applications in the field, while adhering to plant and company environmental, health and safety concerns
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and technical support for hardware and software problems, coordinating with CSM sales team and corporate technical resources as needed
  • Execute preventative maintenance programs for all chemfeed and control systems within the assigned region to ensure optimal equipment performance and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all service activities, including site visits, installations, troubleshooting activities, and customer communications
  • Comply with all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures relevant to the position and complete all required administrative documentation

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:

  • Instrumentation/Electronics background and troubleshooting skills with mechanical aptitude
  • Self-motivated with ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight
  • Strong technical and cognitive ability to logically troubleshoot and resolve standard technical issues
  • Clear communication skills to efficiently support the service process internally while providing effective communications to end customers
  • Ability to speak effectively regarding technical equipment and processes before customers, clients, and other employees
  • Comfortable independently scheduling project work and associated travel using available tools
  • General knowledge of electrical equipment, chemistry, and safety
  • Visual and manual dexterity to competently service instruments and electrical equipment
  • Ability to work in multiple environments, indoor/outdoor in variety of industries, including Class 1 Div 2 hazard classifications
  • Computer proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and basic database knowledge
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicle frequently

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with digital communications including MODBUS, OPC, ProfiNet, networking, and cellular communications
  • Understanding of Water Treatment processes, controls and programming, and chemical applications
  • Fundamental computer programming skills, Boolean and comparative logic
  • Ability to make good business decisions based on risk reward analysis and company business objectives

Education & Experience
Required:

  • Technical degree/diploma in Electrical, Electronic Technology, Instrumentation and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or other technical discipline
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Instrumentation and Electronics (I&E), or plant operations/maintenance experience, OR at least 2 years of relevant training (college, military, technical/vocational school) in Instrumentation and Electronics, working with 120VAC and low voltage, analog and digital communication, installation and troubleshooting
  • Mechanical aptitude for installations, mounting equipment, plumbing, conduit, tubing in PVC, SS, and copper

Preferred:

  • Experience with chemical feed systems and process control equipment
  • Previous field service or customer-facing technical role experience
  • Certification in relevant technical areas (electrical, instrumentation, etc.)

  • Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles.  The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity.  Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range:  $33-$40/HR
