Position Purpose: 

The DB&T Business Applications Specialist works within teams to transform business needs into solutions, whether these solutions result in product configurations, product developments, training or process recommendations. The DB&T Business Applications Specialist works on projects for new needs as well as operations to identify and improve current processes and systems.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Understand the business context and business objectives of the project.
  • Works with Product/Business Owners, Project Management and Technical Staff to perform analyses related to the implementation of new or revised business processes and/or new or enhanced internally developed software or third-party vendor software.
  • Drafts initial requirements and breaks down larger scope into smaller pieces if needed.
  • Gathers and documents functional business requirements to be consumed by the business and technical teams for non custom development projects.
  • Prepare stakeholders analysis.
  • Prepare workshops with stakeholders, in collaboration with other team members.
  • Analyze and synthesize information provided by stakeholders.
  • Analyze the gaps between the current solution and the proposed solution.
  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify the integration of multiple systems, applications, and platforms.
  • Collaborate with software architects, UX designers, and cross functional development teams.
  • Produce quality deliverables such as scope of work, business requirement document, process workflows, specifications document, test plans, and training plans.
  • Follow-up on the requirements lifecycle with traceability from business requirements to testing.
  • Define solutions that meet business needs, goals, or objectives.
  • Participate in the evaluation and benchmarking of market solutions when required.
  • Support the Project or Delivery Manager in the execution of the project or initiative.
  • Prepare and execute the different test scenarios and assist during the UAT phase (functional and integration).
  • Assist project teams during the implementation and deployment phases of solutions.
  • Deliver documentation and training support materials; 19. Provide hypercare support post delivery.
  • Work with business to support CONCUR application, business requirements gathering and to translate Statement of Requirement into design for SAP Concur.
  • Work with other value streams to identify integration touch points for SAP Procurement / Sales (MM/SD).
  • Participate and coordinate the business partner team and Veolia cross domain teams in the fit gap analysis during the blueprint phase and during the deployment readiness phases.
  • Responsible for developing high quality functional specifications for all custom enhancements, custom objects and work closely with the technical development team to ensure accurate and timely code that matches the designs.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise integration team on field mapping and design of interfaces with the non-SAP applications / legacy systems.
  • Perform system configuration and manual set up needed to implement the solution for the SAP Financials /Material Management functionality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in administration or computer science or a related field.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) oral and written is a plus.
  • 0-2 years experience as an Application Analyst and or Business Analyst (IT).
  • Preferable experience with ERP systems (SAP).
  • Preferable experience in Agile projects (an asset).
  • Experience in BI (reporting).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Effective communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills are highly desired.
  • Solid computer skills : proficiency with spreadsheet, email, and word processing software required; Google suite preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • CBAP certification is preferred.
