Lead & Conduct Applications & Solutions (A&S) Technology development projects including in-house & onsite testing activities, as well as feasibility​ & treatability studies. The position requires a combination of applied process design expertise preferably in water/wastewater (W & WW) treatment/reuse & process applications, along with project management skills. The successful candidate will report to the Leader of Applications & Systems Technology and will be based at Innovation & Technology Centreof Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (VWTS) located at Hoskote, Bangalore, India.

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop/Prepare innovative application-based process designs, Water, Wastewater ​&​ Process flow sheets.
  • As part of a global development team, contribute to idea generation innovative thinking for new applications / opportunities for Veolia products across different industries that can have business impact.
  • Develop/Prepare experiment test plans to validate concepts at laboratory and pilot scale and arrive at process economics.
  • Manage lab/pilot scale testing equipment procurement, fabrication & delivery​ Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to execute the project at lab /pilot site​.
  • Conduct Pilot equipment set-up and commissioning.
  • Operate and troubleshoot Pilot equipment.
  • Manage/Perform general test equipment maintenance, cleaning and calibration.
  • Gather and analyze data, summarize and present/report results.
  • Accountable for data quality and on time work execution.
  • Work closely with the team, key stakeholders, Process Engineers Commercial leaders team to deliver projects on schedule.
  • Collaborate with pertinent local and global groups within Veolia - technical (analytical, product management, process engineering) and commercial (sales and marketing).

Key Skill Required:

  • Experience with membrane-based (MF/UF, NF/RO, Electrodialysis) flow sheets for process, water ​& wastewater applications​.
  • Experience in wastewater/industrial effluents/process fluids with exposure to either one/two technologies such as - membrane-based solutions, physio chemical, biological treatment, advanced oxidation, ZLD​.
  • Hands-on experience with process equipment design, process flow, and operations of lab, pilot, demo scale systems​.
  • Knowledge of water chemistry, water analysis and process fluids treatments with ability of screening ​&​ selecting right commercially viable solution.
  • Experience in process fluids treatment (preferably) in one or more industries like - Chemical, Mining & Metals (e.g. Lithium), Textiles, Dairy, F&B, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Pharma, Biotech.
  • Innovative thinking, problem-solving approach, analytical mind-set & process techno-economics.
  • Documented track record of innovation; academic or industrial based.
  • Experimentalist with a passion for hands-on laboratory work.
  • Curiosity, open minded, creative, scientific rigor.
  • Ability to make formal and appealing presentations.
  • Effective multitasking and ability to deliver on time and with quality.

Educational Qualification:

  • Ph.D. or Masters /M.S. in Chemical/ Biochemical, Environmental Engineering (preferred) or relevant fields.
