Lead Engineer - Electrical Control & Instrumentation

Function/Responsibilities: 

Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions is currently searching for an ECI Engineer to join our global membrane system engineering team. This team focuses on standard and configurable systems in support of our external Channel Partners and internal selling channels within Veolia. The successful candidate will assume responsibility focusing on the NAM markets such as: 

  • Electrical engineering and PLC program support for our membrane systems
  • Be the point of contact for sustaining engineering efforts related to electrical, instrumentation, and PLC program work. 
  • Support the engineering effort on several programs and projects for new and existing membrane based systems working closely with production, product managers, commercial engineers, and members of the project engineering teams as required. 
  • Contribute to troubleshooting customer and manufacturing problems related to all membrane systems. 
  • Engage with suppliers and third-party as necessary to optimize systems components
  • Support localization and technology transfer to other regions. 
  • Support Global Products Platform engineering team objectives and process development.

Qualifications/Requirements: 

  • Master or engineering degree in engineering or science-related field 
  • Experience with AutoCAD software to develop or adjust electrical drawings
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens and/or Schneider programing 
  • Experience with the configurable membrane systems portfolio at VWTS either through engineering, commissioning, manufacturing, product management or process teams
  • Industrial product design experience in water treatment involving membrane separation processes (RO, UF, ED/EDI/EDR) 
  • Experience with engineering standards for documentation, engineering review processes, and common regional regulatory requirements. 
  • Self-motivated, quick to deliver, and a team player 
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities 
  • Demonstrated dedication to safety 
  • English writing and speaking mandatory 
  • 7+ years of professional experience in related fields 

Desired: 

  • Experience with business management software, e.g. SAP and Eng. change processes.
  • Programming and computer model development experience (excel, google sheets, etc.)

Location Requirements: 

  • Guelph, ON, CA or Minnetonka, MN USA. 
  • Ability to travel approx. 10-20% of the time (this can vary)
