Product Manager - Energy Flexibility Markets F/H/X

Company Description

Are you passionate about energy, technology, and building impactful products?

At Flexcity, we help the European power system become smarter, more flexible, and more sustainable by connecting industrial assets (batteries, renewables, electrolysers, e-boilers…) to energy markets.

A subsidiary of Veolia Group, we combine the agility of a scale-up with the stability of a global leader in ecological transformation.

With the rapid growth of renewable energy in Europe, electricity price volatility is increasing. Companies must rethink how they consume and manage energy. At Flexcity, our mission is to empower them to thrive in the energy transition by optimizing their energy use — every second of the day.

Today, as we continue to scale our 3GW portfolio and expand our valorisation capabilities across short-term electricity markets, we are looking for a Product Manager - Energy Flexibility Markets to strengthen our Product Team and accelerate the development of our flexibility platform. The job is located in our office in Brussels.

Joining Flexcity means having a tangible impact on accelerating flexibility deployment, stabilizing the grid, and enabling higher renewable integration.

Job Description

As a Product Manager F/H/X, you will play a central role in shaping and scaling our platform. You will focus on enabling new valorisation services and improving platform capabilities so our asset owners can maximize the value of their flexibility.

You will be part of the Product Team and closely collaborate within the Market Feature Team — a cross-functional squad including developers and business stakeholders — ensuring our diverse portfolio of assets can access and perform across multiple energy markets.

Reporting to the Head of Product, your role is structured around three main areas:

  • Product Development (≈50%)
    • Lead the development and execution of the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company strategy and evolving market needs.
    • Define and maintain product requirements for:
      • New grid services and valorisation mechanisms (e.g., intraday, congestion, ancillary services)
      • Platform improvements to enhance scalability, robustness, and performance
    • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure successful product delivery and technical feasibility.
    • Coordinate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and efficient user experiences for internal tools and external clients.

  • Product Discovery & Market Analysis (≈25%)
    • Develop deep knowledge of flexibility markets, asset optimisation logic, and customer needs.
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis in the energy flexibility space.
    • Identify and assess new valorisation opportunities and market mechanisms.
    • Translate business opportunities into clear product hypotheses, priorities, and roadmaps.

  • Project Implementation & Cross-Functional Coordination (≈25%)
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
    • Manage product launches and interact with clients and partners when relevant.
    • Monitor timelines, milestones, and delivery performance.
    • Act as an internal reference on flexibility markets and share expertise across teams.
    • Continuously improve internal processes and product ways of working.
