Job Description

Veolia Belux is looking for a VIE/PANGEO Junior Legal Counsel  (M/W)  in Brussels, Belgium 

As an active member of the legal department for Veolia Belgium and Luxembourg, but generally under
supervision of the General Counsel and a dedicated mentor, the Junior Legal Counsel will be called
upon to (i) be a legal advisor to the business in all aspects of its activities, including contract
negotiation, litigation and risk management and (ii) participate actively in project development in
conjunction and partnership with the commercial development teams. 

KEY TASKS: 
1. Be an active and commercially minded force in contract reviewing and negotiations and
generally all aspects of managing legal risks including litigation and in-house training;
2. Assist to propose win-win solutions which allow contracts to be concluded
3. Respond (or prepare responses) in a timely, constructive and commercially minded fashion to
requests of internal and external stakeholders;
4. Preparing standard legal documentation;
5. Participate in educating company personnel as to legal and other risk management
considerations with a view to creating and fostering a broad risk management culture within the
company;

Qualifications

Educational background: Master in law
Previous experience: not required, but certainly useful
Skills:
- commercially and financially minded so as to place legal and risk management
considerations in a broader commercial and financial context (hands on approach and
comfortable leaving the theory for what it is);
- Ability and willingness to understand the basics technical issues affecting the business,
such as a waste water treatment plant, a heat production installation, a plastic recycling
plant, or even the subsidy regime for green electricity production;
Languages: At least 2 out of French, English and Dutch

Additional Information

Location: Brussels, Belgium 
Duration: 12 months renewable
Remuneration: 2950,61 € net/month (according to the rates of January 2026)
Benefits: 30 days' leave per 12 months / Tax-free / French pension contribution
