Job Description

Job Summary

Individuals in this role should be able to lead and execute engineering packages/projects on Instrumentation and Controls.

Essential Responsibilities / Expectations

Must-Have Requirements 

  •  In depth knowledge in Instrumentation & Control System Engineering fundamentals. 
  • Preparing and reviewing of Instrument List/Index, Instrument Datasheets, IO list, Hook-up, Inst/control Cable Schedule, Loop Diagram etc. 
  • Preparing and reviewing of Automated Valve List, Automated Valve Datasheets, Solenoid Valves datasheets, Pressure Regulating Valve Datasheet and Pressure Safety Valve etc. 
  • Preparation of PLC/DCS system specification, control system Architecture etc. 
  • Ability to read and prepare a deviation list for Tender/ Client specifications 
  • Knowledge in International standards (IEC 60079, ISA 5.1, API 551, ATEX, ASME , IEC 61508/61511 etc.).
  • Ability to read and understand Process documents like P&ID, PFD, Mass Balance, Process Description etc. 
  • Ability to read and understand Piping documents like PMS, Line List, Valve List, Nozzle Schedule etc.
  • Guide 3D Modellers on instrument installation on 3D model development 
  • Prepare RFQ/MR for Instruments/Analyzers/PLC’s/On-Off Valves and Control Valves 
  • Review technical offers and preparation of TBE for Instrumentation and Control system (PLC/ DCS, RIO, Field Instruments, Automated Valves (ON-OFF Valves, Control Valves, SOV, PRV etc.) in line with codes & client specifications. 
  • Review and Approval of Post order vendor documentation for Instrumentation and Control System (PLC/ DCS, RIO, Field Instruments, Automated Valves (ON-OFF Valves, Control Valves, SOV, PRV etc.) 
  • Review Instrument location Layouts on 2D/3D 
  • Knowledge and exposure on sizing/selection of Instruments and valves for a Zone 1 or 2 classified area 
  • Knowledge on Flow meter sizing, Orifice sizing, control valve sizing  
  • Exposure to conducting inspection and report for PLC/DCS Panels. 
  • Budgeting hours and controlling on time and high-quality submission of Instrumentation and Control scope of work  
  • Handled complex projects with complete basic and detail engineering of Instrumentation and Control System scope 
  • Ability to converse with inter discipline team members, external stakeholders like customers and vendors 
  • Prepare and review control narrative, alarm/trip list, functional block diagrams and cause & effect diagrams
  • Ability to navigate Navis works and reviews 3D drawings

Qualifications

Education: Engineering Degree –Electronics / Instrumentation & Control Engineering.

Experience Required (Min – Max year): Minimum 10 to 14 years Experience in Water, Power, Oil & Gas or related Industry
