Position Purpose:
Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of all Veolia Water Delaware’s production and distribution system facilities. Manage and maintain Electrical, Mechanical, and diverse instrumentation and control systems throughout the facility.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains and services all instruments, equipment, motors, and controls at all facilities.
- Perform calibration of water quality analyzers such as pH, chlorine residual, TOC, alkalinity, and turbidity.
- Performs general maintenance on pumps, valves, regulators, and chemical feed systems.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and rewires control systems.
- Preforms electrical work such as wiring lighting fixtures, instruments, controls, generators, motors, and conduit.
- Assists in the installation of new electrical equipment such as starters, VFD’s, PLC’s, breaker panels, etc.
- Assists in troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating RTU’s, PLC’s and communication equipment, including TCP/IP, radios and telephone systems.
- Assist in SCADA system operating and maintenance support.
- Perform preventative maintenance on various water quality instrumentation and electrical/communication equipment via work orders from asset management system.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma.
- Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or +5 years field experience (minimum).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Hands on experience in PLC/HMI system programming required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls.
- Communication systems, including radio, cellular, and TCP/IP networking a plus.
- Written, Oral, and Interpersonal Communication skills.
- Ability to read, troubleshoot and perform work from schematics/electrical blueprints.
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley, Control Wave, and SCADAPack Process Logic Controllers (PLC), a plus.
- VFD and Soft Starter troubleshooting and programming a plus.
- Must understand 4-20mA instrumentation and process controls.
- Strong Computer Skills.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Understanding of Arc Flash regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to work in vaults and confined spaces or at heights from a ladder.
- Ability to work indoor / outdoors and in inclement weather as necessary.
- Available 24/7 for emergency support require.
- Motivated, Self-Starter working alone or in teams.
- Strong commitment to safety.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Delaware Journeyman Electrician license required (or ability to obtain within 6 months), Delaware Master License is a plus.
- Must have valid State Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
