Job Description

  • To do checklist recording at UPW and ensuring all data is updated and readily available when needed
  • Perform routine quality monitoring to ensure the plant running as per design and following the contractual and legal specifications.
  • To do proper reporting through the communication log book to ensure no communication breakdown between Operation Engineer, Assistant Engineer and operation technician.
  • Ensure all records of the quality, operational status of the plant equipment and facilities readily available.
  • Handle monitoring and operating of the control room, SCADA and ensure that process equipment is running efficiently.
  • To be alerted with equipment and instrument status inside the plant
  • To do chemical transfer based on storage tank level
  • Resolves day-to-day technical problems on site and repairs equipment to guarantee their reliability and running efficiently.
  • Take water samples at sample locations and record daily lab result
  • Scan LMRA before the job starts. Tech must read and understand every question inside LMRA before submit
  • 5S Housekeeping. To do 5S as documented proof of 5S activities
  • To maintain 5S tools and inform engineer if need new/replacement
  • Check eye shower functionality (night shift only)
  • Ensure all activities and status is properly handed over to the team during shift change over.

ABNORMALITIES
- Round around the plant to check for any abnormalities
- To do proper and detailed Issue ticket when found any issue, ie safety issue, operation issue
- Quick troubleshooting action to prevent continuous upset to treatment
- To check and confirm with Operation Engineer in case there is uncertainty of current status of the plant
- Attend any ad-hoc duties assigned by the Operation Engineer when required.
- To ensure that any tools used for troubleshooting are returned into the toolbox.

SAFETY
- Complying with HSE and to consult HSE personnel or Plant Manager for advice or instruction when in doubt.
- Wearing allocated PPE that suit the different working condition requirements
- Seek advice from HSE personnel for any of the PPE that are not able to guarantee the required protection and not comfortable
- Participate in any program for promotion of HSE
- Prevent occurrence of Unsafe Act or Unsafe Condition at workplace and report to I See I Act whenever needed
- Ensure that HSE policies and procedures are implemented and applied in all plant related activities
- Maintain work area in a safe, clean and tidy condition
- To conduct Last Minute Risk Assessment and analyze the work area to ensure all safety
aspect are in place

WASTE HANDLING
- To hang and record new jumbo bag generated and place schedule waste sticker on the
jumbo bag
- To record waste and jumbo bag inventory if necessary
- To contact material mover when to remove sludge bag inventory
- To ensure empty chemical container area is properly barricaded

CHEMICAL HANDLING
- Ensure proper signage is placed on operational chemical containers and "Return to Vendor"
signage is affixed to empty totes
- To record and verify chemical inventory at site
- To ensure the chemical storage room is properly stored
- Ensure chemical loading is done safely & top-up/balance is recorded and file accordingly

RECEIVING ITEM
- Operation tech does not have authority to sign and verify receiving items.
- Any item received must be kept at the control room and to be verified by the engineer or any
person instructed by the engineer only.
