Job Description
Position Purpose:
Leads Operators and O&M Technicians in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible for operating and monitoring main control system.
- Performs Wastewater process control and preventative maintenance/corrective maintenance functions.
- Coordinates and works with maintenance staff on preventive and corrective maintenance functions.
- Performs cleaning and general housekeeping duties in work areas including office, laboratory, cleaning of clarifiers, headworks, centrifuge, and other process equipment as assigned.
- May be required to work in sanitary sewerage collection systems including maintenance of lift stations.
- May be required to operate automotive equipment, including heavy trucks, forklifts and front-end loaders.
- Adheres to all safety regulations.
- May train or assist in the training of OITs and assigned helpers.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field/or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Capable of being assigned as responsible charge of the facility with an ability to react to unplanned events.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Grade IV or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators Certificate.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Commercial Driver's License.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform the following: straight pulling, reaching above the shoulder, pushing, walking, standing, crawling, kneeling, repeated bending and sitting for extended periods of time. Ability to distinguish basic colors and various shades.
Additional Information
Pay Rate: $37.92 per hour.
