Job Description

The Project Engineer provides chemical and mechanical engineering support for the delivery of CAPEX
water treatment systems to Veolia MWIS Industrial Service Centers. Working in a multidisciplinary team
the job will entail design accuracy, timely deliverables, adherence to budget, and compliance with
Veolia’s quality and safety standards. This role combines strong technical knowledge with practical
project management skills to plan, execute, and deliver capital projects effectively.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop engineering deliverables and coordinate with Process, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Engineers, as well as supporting functions such as Document Control, Sourcing, and Finance
  • Drive vendor selection where required, and ensure supplier documentation and performance
  • meet project requirements
  • Maintain and report project schedule status and documentation to the Lead Engineer and/or stake holders
  • Act as the central point of contact for assigned projects, design reviews, installation support, and commissioning activities
  • Design, plan, manage, and execute plant and equipment capital expenditure projects within approved budgets
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses for process or equipment changes and demonstrate return on investment

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


Required:

  • Experience in an industrial plant or process engineering environment
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and execute capital projects from design through to installation
  • Strong organization, scheduling, and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication
  • Team-oriented mindset with good judgment under changing conditions
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 35% of the time

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of project management principles or tools (e.g., scheduling, budgeting, vendor coordination)
  • French or Spanish language skills

 

Education & Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, including direct involvement in executing and managing projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industrial engineering – direct experience in water treatment or chemical preferred
  • Project management skills & or certifications (ie. PMP)
  • Engineer in training certification

 

Compensation:
The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity.  Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $103-113k.
