Job Description
The Water Technologies and Solutions Analytical Instruments (Sievers Brand) product line business has an opportunity for a Sales Account Manager. The person in this role will develop strong partnerships with our life science customers to expand our robust install base, generate new sales opportunities, and facilitate the success of our end users, traveling to regional client sites in the DACH region (Bavaria, Austria and German speaking part of Switzerland). You will present our industry leading solutions, utilize your commercial expertise to expand networks at regional conferences, and collaborate with our cross-functional teams to support customer accounts. This is a rapidly growing region in the life science space, and our commercial group is looking to add a team member who will achieve yearly sales targets, grow the business through customer focus and develop professionally through internal and external training opportunities.

Knowledge of Microbiology in the Life Sciences Market ( Endotoxins or Biobuden, will be an advantage)
Duties & Responsibilities
Direct selling in the assigned territory
Prospecting for new customers and business in addition to growing and maintaining the existing customers portfolio and qualifying new leads to maintain business to support a balanced sales funnel for future sales.
Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks
Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success
Develop positive relationships with clients
Act as the point of contact and handle customers’ individual needs
Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner
Report on the status of accounts and transactions
Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives. Monitor sales metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
Attend company sponsored trade shows within the territory and bring awareness to local or regional conferences that would help create sales opportunities in the territory
Have a technical understanding of our competitors’ products and sales distribution
Travel within territory to customer sites to develop and maintain business, perform equipment demos as needed, and assist in the sale of aftermarket products
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent communication skills in German as well as in English.
Experience with analytical instruments preferably within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industries
Knowledge of microbiology within the Life Sciences market
Strong interpersonal and customer focused skills
In-depth knowledge of the industrial applications for product lines and markets
Excellent problem-solving skills
Self-motivated
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
Education & Experience
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or Life Sciences discipline
3 years or more capital equipment sales work experience required
Working Conditions
60% of travel involved
