Job Description

Position Purpose: 

Senior Project Engineer – Performs & plans commissioning of electrical systems. Must be a self-motivated & energetic professional. Must have understanding of building electrical systems design & construction. Must have experience with commissioning process of electrical systems ranging in size, rating and complexity. The ideal candidate shall possess theoretical and practical knowledge in the commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems and related controls. Candidate will be responsible for reviewing project information; coordinating and executing daily field activities; maintaining project documentation; assisting the Project Manager with schedule and planning of resources; and providing guidance to Project Engineers. May perform as team lead on small to medium sized projects. Will be expected to assess and test at a high technical level. This role requires the candidate to have technical competency, organizational skills, good communication skills, and to work well in a team environment where leadership is necessary.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Commission electrical and mechanical distribution equipment in a variety of environments, including:
• • Mission critical facilities (e.g. data centers)
  • Central Utility Plants (boiler and chiller plants)
  • Power Generation and Cogeneration Plants
• Identify and assemble required documentation, drawings, and data from clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Develop building-specific commissioning plans.
• Schedule and lead commissioning meetings including proper documentation.
• Develop and/or review factory witness test procedures for major equipment.
• Attend factory witness tests and provide detailed report identifying deficiencies.
• Submit progress reports and commissioning meeting notes to the project and facility manager.
• Perform physical testing of electrical/mechanical equipment and record using test instrumentation.
• Respond to customer inquiries in a manner that exceeds the customer’s expectations.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background: 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5-15 years of experience in preferably electrical/mechanical/controls engineering, energy services, plant operations, or related field; OR
• Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as service technician, controls installer, commissioning agent, or construction manager with experience with building controls, test and balance, design, construction and/or maintenance of building systems.
• Experience in mission critical facility commissioning essential.
• Building management and distributed control system experience a plus.
• Metering experience a plus.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $115000 to $130000 per year.
