EMEA Regional Controller
HUNGARY

The Regional Controller is a key member of the Finance team, reporting directly to the EMEA CFO with a dotted line to the Global Controller.
This role oversees and participates in the book close process EMEA region, ensures the integrity of the books and manages the statutory reporting and statutory audits. The role ensures compliance with internal
controls, implements corporate policies and procedures.

As a central contact for all internal and external queries related to legal entities in the region, this position requires strong communication skills and fluency in English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS reporting in line with corporate submission deadlines, including trial balance review, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of statutory accounts in multiple jurisdictions across the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with local regulations and accounting standards
  • Manage relationships with external service providers for statutory reporting, income tax returns, VAT returns, and other compliance matters
  • Ensure compliance with corporate internal controls
  • Recommend and lead improvements in processes across the region
  • Supervise and monitor transactional accounting activities (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and General Ledger) performed by external service providers, working closely with Global Process Owners and HQ team
  • Review deliverables from service providers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with corporate policies and deadlines
  • Provide guidance and oversight to outsourced partners to continuously improve service delivery and operational efficiency
  • Lead the preparation and internal implementation of upcoming statutory reporting obligations, and other evolving compliance requirements across the region
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external advisors to ensure systems, processes, and reporting align with new regulations
  • Drive project management for these initiatives, ensuring timely execution and training for relevant stakeholders.
  • Challenges the status quo, proactively seeks opportunities to develop finance processes and procedures
  • Recommend and lead improvements in processes across the region in coordination with global process owners

EMEA Regional Controller required education and experience:

  • BsC in Finance/Accounting is required
  • Qualified member of a recognised accountancy body (ACCA, CPA etc) highly preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, with multinational experience
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, experience in statutory conversion process
  • Strong MS Office knowledge, experience in SAP and Google applications is a plus
  • Proven ability to manage, influence and mentor team members
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Results-driven with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines
  • Strong financial analytics and critical problem-solving skills
  • Audit or internal controls experience preferred
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional, multicultural team
