Job Description
Veolia Industry Building - Switzerland AG is looking for a VIE/PANGEO - Energy Manager (M/W) in Basel, Switzerland.
THE MISSION
Step into a critical position that directly supports our O&M contract with Novartis and strengthens our competitive advantage in the energy management market. As Energy Manager, you'll be at the heart of our operations, managing energy efficiency initiatives and building lasting client relationships in a fast-paced, international environment.
Your mission:
✅ Establish and monitor energy efficiency KPIs and performance metrics
✅ Manage energy data across multiple systems and databases
✅ Optimize energy consumption for our pharmaceutical and chemical industry clients
✅ Ensure accurate billing and meter management for customers
✅ Drive business development by showcasing energy management as a key service to new clients
✅ Collaborate internationally with technical teams, clients, and government agencies
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Energy Performance & Monitoring:
Establish and monitor KPIs for energy efficiency across client sites
Prepare and distribute annual energy balance sheets and statistics to federal and cantonal authorities
Maintain and optimize energy databases and management systems
Organize monthly readings of energy and wastewater meters for customers
Technical & Operational Management:
Ensure proper functioning of energy and wastewater meters
Arrange repairs and replacements for defective meters
Manage meter decommissioning processes
Provide data for energy database maintenance
Data & Access Management:
Maintain relevant databases in the energy management system
Manage access rights for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure correct billing of energy and wastewater to customers
Client Relations & Advisory:
Ensure regular communication with customers
Advise project managers and operations staff on energy-related issues
Hold meetings with clients and propose improvement measures
Plan and coordinate energy efficiency optimization measures
Business Development:
Assist in developing and presenting energy concepts and KPIs for new client acquisition
Monitor developments in energy efficiency technologies and practices
Actively participate in projects providing energy consulting
Collaborate with and support contacts with government agencies
Qualifications
THE IDEAL PROFILE
Education:
Master's degree with specialization in:
Environment
Energy Management
Engineering (or equivalent from University or Engineering School)
Knowledge of databases and automation (meter functionality, signal transmission, etc.) is a plus
Experience:
Internship experience focused on energy optimization and energy consumption analysis
Practical background in energy management or related field
Key Skills:
Open-minded, agile and flexible approach
Strong analytical skills with a flair for numbers
Business acumen combined with solution-oriented mindset
Customer-focused and relationship-building abilities
Proactive and results-driven mentality
Proficiency with databases and technical systems
Languages:
English: written and spoken (fluent)

Contract type: VIE (International Volunteer in Business) – French nationality required
Remuneration : 3463.17 € net/month (according to the rates of October 2026)
Accommodation : yes
