Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to support our legal contract management department. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in legal operations and document management within a corporate setting.

This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in legal operations and document management while working alongside experienced legal Contract Management professionals. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain a repository of artificial intelligence prompts and tools to help the team with contractual reviews.
  • Utilize tools to create and streamline routine tasks.
  • Organize and streamline the legal department's Google Drive, and database ensuring proper folder structure and file naming conventions.
  • Manage day-to-day filing of legal documents, both physical and digital, to maintain an efficient and organized system.
  • Coordinate and process various legal documentation, including:
  1. Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
  2. Certificates of Insurance
  3. Contracts
  4. Lien Waivers
  5. Surety Bonds, Other relevant legal documents
  • Assist in tracking document status, expirations, and renewals.
  • Support the legal team with specific tasks as needed.

Hard Skills:

  • Knowledge of legal terminology and concepts as used in commercial contracts
  • Knowledge and proficiency in using AI tools to help manage use of existing tools and to create tools to assist in administrative tasks.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Basic understanding of legal terminology and document types

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field

         
Required:

  • Understanding of Legal and Contractual terms & conditions
  • Fluency in English language (French is a plus)

Preferred:

  • Experience with document management systems

Working Conditions:

  • Duration: to be discussed, Co-op program (6 months) or longer
  • Hours: Full time (preferred), flexible schedule possible
  • A combination of office and remote work

Compensation:

  • The compensation range is tied to the market for similarly bench-marked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $21.63 - $23.69 CAD
