Procurement Intern

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship will focus on plant operational expenditure (OPEX) procurement, providing a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of procurement within an industrial
setting.
*This will be a full-time, 6-month internship, expected to begin in January 2025.*
Responsibilities:
Help track and analyze plant OPEX spending patterns and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
Assist in the procurement process for plant OPEX items, including identifying suppliers, requesting quotes, and comparing offers
Develop Procurement synergies between Service Centers
Partner closely with the Category Managers to align the negotiation strategies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand plant operational needs and procurement requirements
Assist in maintaining and updating supplier databases and performance metrics
Participate in supplier negotiations and meetings under supervision
Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the procurement department
Assist in preparing reports and presentations on procurement activities and performance
Learn and apply relevant procurement policies, procedures, and best practices

Currently pursuing, or recently completed, a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask on several concurrent projects
Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
Ability to work with customers and leadership in remote locations
Communicate effectively to groups in person and over the phone
Working knowledge of MS Office suite
Problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and perseverance
