Role:

The Project Engineer has the primary function of leading Service Projects from Start to Completion. Service projects may involve equipment supply, shutdown services, construction supervision, pre-commissioning and commissioning works. 

Key Objectives:

  • Lead service projects, encompassing Client and vendor management to execute the contract scope. 

  • Execute onsite construction and installation supervision and inspections, pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing and setting to work of the plant. 

  • Prepare equipment and systems for operation, in accordance with the contract requirements, specifications and procedures.

  • Generate and/or support development of site work procedures necessary to execute construction and commissioning activity onsite. 

  • Provide operational and technical support for onshore and offshore VEPS supplied plants.

  • Provide mechanical and process advice onsite to prepare for the commissioning of the plant. Key equipment knowledge essential in Gas Processing and Produced Water Treatment. 

Main Duties:

  • Supervise the onsite construction, pre commissioning, commissioning, initial operation and hand-over projects to clients.

  • Implement and ensure adherence to Company Procedures and all other control measures to ensure the specific requirements of the Contract are achieved, e.g. quality, safety, efficiency, budget and programme.

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of relevant data relating to Commissioning / Operations, e.g. Check Records, Reports, SDRs, TQs, Log-Books, Operational Hours, Production Rates, Plant or Personnel incidents, Safety Records, Work Permits, Risk Assessments, Abnormal Occurrences and/or Faults, site documentation mark ups etc. To ensure close out and completion of handover documentation on site.

  • Troubleshooting of plant operational problems as required. 

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with Client & Contractors.

  • Expedite early completion to specification of all necessary pre-commissioning, commissioning, operations, contractual testing and trial operations, all leading to a successful hand-over and issue of Acceptance Certification.

  • Report on any views or recommendations concerning methods for improving the Company’s product, engineering, performance or any other aspects of its operations through VEPS Continual Improvement System. 

  • Prepare Construction and Commissioning work packs prior to site mobilization.

  • Prepare and present Client and VEPS Internal staff training in conjunction with other Company personnel.

  • Support the construction and commissioning activities from the office including support of on-going site operations. This includes being the point of contact for the client, and maintaining a technical level of construction and commissioning support remotely.

  • Liaise with all disciplines to provide quick, cost effective solutions to live problems, e.g Projects, Warranty, Engineering, Process, C&I, Tendering, Document Control, QA/QC, Healthcare and Health & Safety.

  • Attend client meetings, usually at client premises therefore involving domestic or international travel.

  • Undertaking other duties that may be required from time to time.

- At least 10+ years experience in design / construction of process plant, or 5+ years  experience in the oil and gas sector
