Job Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for full procurement support of the region, including purchasing and supply chain management. This position is also responsible for strategic procurement initiatives aimed at decreasing unit costs and recommending new initiatives leveraging spend on a national and international basis.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes, recommends, and implements national contracts for assigned Commodities.
  • Negotiates price changes and new contracts.
  • Implements Minority Business Enterprise program throughout region.
  • Implements corporate procurement standards and procedures throughout all region locations.
  • Provides input to corporate on development of new and existing corporate procurement standards and procedures.
  • Works with sister and parent company procurement specialists to develop synergies and savings.
  • Evaluates new vendors and maintains current vendor relationships.
  • Provides full procurement support for all region needs.
  • Trains region procurement staff and region supply chain staff.
  • Evaluates warehouse and inventory control systems in place (supply management processes).
  • Assists in development of corporate standard for supply management.
  • Implements corporate supply management processes.
  • Maintains region inventories.
  • Implements e-procurement programs and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • BABusiness Administration/Engineering/ Economics -preferred(or);
  • Equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 10+ years business experience, at least 5 years in related field.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Computer Skills MS Office Suite and PeopleSoft.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Leadership Skills-Innovative, proactive and decision maker.
  • Organizational Skills-Ability to prioritize and focus on areas of significant impact.
  • Project Management Skills-ability to work in a team environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills-Able to deal with internal and external customers and suppliers.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • Certified Purchasing Management (CPM) preferred.
