Job Description

Veolia is currently searching for a Senior Application Engineer to join our Food, Beverage & Pharmaceuticals Applications/Process Engineering Team within North America (NORAM). The role combines deep technical expertise with exceptional customer relationship management and project leadership capabilities.

The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for taking the lead in the design of process and ingredient water systems utilizing a combination of Activated Carbon, Membrane Filtration (RO/NF/UF), UV, Electrodeionization, as well as other unit operations, and preparing budgetary and final proposals. In addition, the Senior Application Engineer is responsible for presenting large complex projects through internal approvals and assisting in seeing awarded projects through execution and commissioning. The candidate will also be responsible for leading some of their own design and proposal workload.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Evaluate incoming opportunities, help formulate strategy, organize required resources. Maintain schedule of deliverables for bid preparation and submission.
  • Apply knowledge of process/ingredient treatment to train, coach and mentor team members on technical concepts.
  • Generate and peer review others bid packages including: process designs, costing, budget & firm proposals, process & instrumentation and general arrangement drawings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Regional Sales Managers and Local Representatives as well as Customers.
  • Assist Region Sales Managers with sales calls, design kick-off meetings, and consultants
  • Understand our customers' business requirements and adjust Veolia's value propositions, costing and process design strategies in order to position the company's products to increase the probability of success.
  • Plan project schedules and set priorities for yourself and others while delivering on or ahead of schedule while exceeding quality standards.
  • Adhering to all internal procedures related to bid preparation, proposal tracking, Order transfers, and forecasting

Prefer that this position will be based out of the Veolia Office in Minnetonka, MN; Oakville, ON; Richmond, VA. Some travel will be required for this position.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Previous mentoring, training and team leading experience
  • Proven track record of customer-facing technical sales or engineering roles
  • Bachelor's or equivalent 4 degree in engineering or science related field
  • Self-motivated, quick to deliver and a team player
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities
  • Demonstrated dedication to safety
  • Effective problem solving & communication skills

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in water & wastewater engineering or equipment supply field
  • Experience in bidding/proposal preparation and the ability to read and understand bid/proposal specification, both from a technical and commercial perspective, as related to contractual terms and conditions.

The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $100,000 - 110,000 annually. This role also includes an annual incentive plan (AIP).
