GENERAL FUNCTION 

This position is accountable for handling, monitoring and operating the plant and ensures that process equipment is running efficiently. The responsibilities & authorities are including the following

TASKS

Technical

  • Oversee and monitor the performance of the wastewater treatment system to ensure its consistent efficiency and to guarantee that the treated effluent continuously complies with both regulatory standards and client specifications.

  • Defines, maintains and manages high standards of operation including initiating technical programs that lead to quality of improvement, cost reduction and efficiency.

  • Support Plant Manager when dealing with the client on production matters and provide technical back up on all technical matters.

  • Manage the Operation Team in plant troubleshooting in the event of plant production hiccups.

  • Overall responsibilities for the operation team supervise leads and motivate team members.

  • Supervise, control, and evaluate wastewater analysis results from the in-house laboratory to assess the status of the wastewater treatment system. Additionally, oversee and manage analytical procedures, ensuring the adequacy and up-to-date status of analytical chemicals and equipment to maintain operational efficiency.

  • Initiate corrective actions to prevent any production shortfall, delayed outages, quality breaches, material shortages and operational incidents. 

  • Ensure production volumes, cost and quality of production and production schedules are met. 

  • Participates in developing operation strategies and gives input to plant budgets

  • Responsible for reporting of all incidents in the plant which could affect the quality and production targets. 

  • Communicate and exchange information between Veolia's SCADA room and FMC room to ensure that the client receives accurate and timely information in case of abnormal situations or emergencies.

  • Responsible for the smooth execution of Schedule Waste Management and act as Environmental Representative for the operating company. 

  • Monthly reports about WW quality, sludge amount, chemical use, monitoring data.

  • Responsible for managing the quantity of chemicals used in the plant to ensure sufficient supply for continuous operation of the wastewater treatment system, including coordinating chemical transportation with suppliers.

  • Prepare a monthly report to the client and Record form for statistics and data showing the performance of the wastewater treatment system of the pollution source (Form TS. 1) and summary report of the wastewater treatment system performance (Form TS. 2).

  • Participates in developing operation strategies and gives input to plant budgets. 

  • Establish and Maintain technical and work instructions documentation and records up to date

  • Cooperate with and support the maintenance team's Preventive Maintenance (PM) work according to the maintenance plan.

  • Provide appropriate training for subordinate employees to comply with legal requirements or client agreements.

  • Ensure the cleanliness or 5S of process equipment and plant area.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Ensure that HSE policies and procedures are implemented and applied in all plant related activities.
  • The responsibilities toward HSE shall include;

a)    Complying with HSE and in the event of doubt of certain issues to consult Plant Manager for advice or instruction.
b)    Wearing allocated PPE provided by the employer to suit working condition requirements.
c)    Seek advice from HSE personnel for any of the PPE provided that does not provide required protection and comfortness.
d)    Participate in any program for promotion of HSE.
e)    Prevent occurrence of Unsafe Act and Unsafe Condition at workplace.

Quality

  • Apply the Quality procedures for operations bound to their activities

University Degree  Bachelor of Engineering/Science -  Electrical Engineer / Environmental engineer/ Chemical Engineer/ Mechanical Engineer or related fields

EXPERIENCE EXPECTED 

  • 3 - 5 Years 

COMPETENCIES EXPECTED (Maximum 8 in total)

  • Technical

  • Knowledge in computer for SCADA, system control and interlocking.

  • Knowledge in WWTP System treatment process, process piping distribution, equipment & instrument maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting.

  • Alarm response and interpretation, understanding of priorities. 

  • Propose solutions and prepare proposals for problem solving and improvements.

Personal 

  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written, with the versatility to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner. 

  • Flexible in order to ensure operational workload is covered. 

  • Passionate about providing a first class service to our customers 

  • Able to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks 

 

TRAVEL

Willing to travel back to the plant outside of regular working hours when there is an emergency.
