SIDEM (Societe Internationale de Dessalement d'Eau de Mer), one subsidiary of Veolia Water, acting mainly in the Middle-East, has developed several desalination solutions matching all types of requirements over the past 50 years. Thanks to its strong and permanent in-house research & development SIDEM has been able to provide state of the art large desalination plants on a turnkey projects basis.

SIDEM is executing very large scale projects in the UAE for seawater desalination.

For the selected candidate, it will be the opportunity to work in a challenging technical and international and multicultural environment with professional engineers in many disciplines on large magnitude projects with short delivery time for a desalination business with high technical skills.

Main Responsibilities and possible scopes of work according to applicant profiles:

As a process commissioning engineer:

  1. Commissioning and testing of the desalination plant: with the support of the local commissioning team, and under the management of the commissioning manager, preparation of testing procedures, plant testing, coordination with internal and external laboratory, participation in writing final reports.

 

  1. Operation and optimization of a Reverse Osmosis Pilot plant: with the support of the local team for the operation, and of the process department of the company headquarter, the engineer will develop testing protocols and measure result in order to optimise the pilot plant , the final objective being to implement the findings in the main plant when it will be put under operation. (according to project)

Educational background: Professional engineer in process, mechanical, chemistry and or biochemistry

First experience (including internships) : At least a year of water field experience, or energy or plant construction and/or operation

Skills: organised, rigorous, technically skilled, autonomous, willing to learn

Language: Fluency in English is a must, Arabic is a plus

Other: Proactive and responsible - Ability to work in a multicultural environment
