Job Description

The Application Engineering Intern will work collaboratively with senior team members to develop their technical expertise while building customer relationships and project management skills. The ideal candidate will take on increasing responsibility for continuous improvement initiatives as well as development of winning and executable solutions throughout the sales cycle including customer engagement, technical solution development, commercial offerings, contract execution and project handover.

 

  • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives under the direction of a senior team member

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Regional Sales Managers, Local Representatives as well as Customers.

  • Assist Regional Sales Managers with sales calls and host internal project meetings.

  • Learn and utilize a basic understanding of Veolia’s products to review customer specifications, submit RFQs to sub vendors and review responses accordingly. 

  • Grow your working knowledge by generating bid packages including: costing/budgeting, proposal generation, process & instrumentation and general arrangement drawing creation. 

  • Have a basic understanding of customers' business requirements and with direction from others adjust Veolia's value propositions, costing and process design strategies in order to position the company's products to increase the probability of success.

  • Adhering to all internal procedures related to bid preparation, proposal tracking, Order Packages

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively, fluency in English (both written and oral) and able to contribute to team and department projects
  • Self-motivated, comfortable with a fast-paced work environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments

  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks at hand

  • Clear, concise communication and presentation skills (both written and oral)

 

While on-the-job training will be provided, candidates may benefit from previous knowledge and exposure in the following areas:

  • Understanding of pumping and hydraulic forces.

  • Understanding of water chemistry. 

  • Ability to read P&IDs and PFDs (including material balances).

  • AI database and agent experience

Education

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or other related technical discipline.
